Selected to join Mastercard Lighthouse Massiv Partnership Programme
Selected to join Mastercard Lighthouse Massiv Partnership Programme
At Tespack, our unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability, and meaningful social change has always been at the core of our mission. We are thrilled to announce some exciting news: Tespack has earned a coveted spot in Mastercard’s esteemed Lighthouse MASSIV Partnership Programme. Among thousands of companies, we have been selected to be part of this remarkable initiative. This program stands as a beacon of hope for a world striving for sustainability and societal advancement. It carefully chooses top-impact tech companies to join forces in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through strategic partnerships that generate revenue.
Many Nordic unicorns, like iZettle, have originated from this program. iZettle, a company later acquired for $2 billion, initially embarked on its journey through Mastercard’s program when its revenue was a mere $60,000 per year. This success story contributes significantly to our shared objective of enhancing payment access and fostering a positive impact and to what it represents to our team and company.
Modern finance relies on two essential factors for its operation: energy and connectivity. These happen to be the core areas of expertise for Tespack.
For this reason, we are thrilled to join the program alongside four other amazing companies: 7Analyics, Arbonics, Openframe, and Responsibly. These innovative and disruptive companies focus on bringing social impact through technology innovation. The entire team is truly honoured to be part of such a prestigious and valuable program, which will enable us to continue scaling and providing access to mobile and affordable energy solutions for off-grid regions.
Our Big thanks to Mastercard Lighthouse
“The whole Tespack team from Finland and Bangladesh are deeply honoured by our selection from a pool of highly talented companies. We view this program as a gateway to transformative partnerships, including the potential to collaborate with Mastercard, which could significantly alter our company’s trajectory. Tespack’s technologies provide connectivity and mobile energy generation, both crucial factors for Fintech functionality. We are poised to strategically address underserved markets, and with our technology combined with Mastercard’s, the limitations for Fintech are no longer existent. We eagerly anticipate the program’s rapid pace of development.” – Mario Aguilera, Founder & CEO at Tespack.
Tespack´s DNA and Vision – Energy for All
Our DNA and vision have always been to create smart mobile microgrids for challenging markets and to support the global energy crisis. Currently, more than 1.2 billion people lack access to energy, and 40% of the population does not have access to internet connectivity. We understand the importance of collaboration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. To date, our smart mobile energy solutions have supported more than 28 countries and have worked with the largest NGOs and organisations, including UNICEF, UNDP, Solidaridad, Save the Children, Plan International, Audi Foundation, Ernest & Young, as well as others, to bring digital education, mobile hospitals, and soon micro-cinemas to the most remote areas. Therefore, there is no doubt that the focus of the Mastercard Lighthouse Programme, which emphasises fostering partnerships, will help us scale our impact and reach our growth goals more quickly by providing access to experts from the largest companies like Disney, Mastercard, Amazon and many more.
Mastercards Lighthouse Words
The companies joining the program have been chosen because of their desire and ability to scale sustainable partnerships. Mastercard hopes to enhance these collaborations to achieve the vision of making the world a more prosperous and secure place.
“Over the years, Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV has featured companies like Molecular Attraction, combatting vector-borne diseases like malaria, TrusTrace, a platform for supply chain traceability and transparency; and SPENN, a company allowing people in developing countries to lend, spend and save money cost-free. It is truly empowering to see the different impact tech solutions that companies bring to the table in the Lighthouse MASSIV program, and an honor to help the five selected companies of the 2023 fall class to find partnerships for scale”
Jasmin Elmi
Program Manager Lighthouse MASSIV, Mastercard Nordics and Baltics
“We are well underway with our vision of helping one billion people live more prosperous and secure lives by 2025. This fall we selected five qualified companies that are at the forefront of sustainability and social impact and impact both people and planet. Mastercard can help provide impact tech startups with the network to scale beyond their markets and supports the companies in realising their impact faster through partnerships.”

ADVISORY BOARD
As part of the Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV program, startups receive feedback and support from UNDP, Swedbank, Danske Bank, Synch and individual advisory board members with diverse and impressive backgrounds from investment firms like VNTRS, First Fellow Partners and SKARP. These board members represent sustainability experts, investors, and executives, each with their own global network:
“As we inch closer to 2030, it’s time to speed up progress towards Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Through the Mastercard MASSIV program, we get to witness first-hand how more and more impactful businesses are taking off.
Introducing impact measurement and management to the scaleups at an early stage is vital to ensure a continued focus on sustainability as they grow. The private sector’s increasing commitment to impact – in part driven by new EU sustainability legislation and standards – is encouraging and will hopefully inspire others to join the growing movement and accelerate action for the Sustainable Development Goals. At UNDP, we’re happy to continue offering our support.”
Stine Kirstein Junge
Head of SDG Accelerator at UNDP
“Success in impact entrepreneurship is measured not just by financial gain, but by lives touched and transformed. To advise an impact startup is to nurture a seedling that has the potential to grow into a tree that provides shade to many. When faced with challenges, remind yourself: The most rewarding ventures are often the most challenging. As an advisory board member I am honored to assist Mastercard Lighthouse helping companies to grow and activate my network in Afrika and the Nordics. ”
Simon Engelbrecht
Founder & CEO at SKARP
“In a time when our sustainable footprint matters more than ever, the Lighthouse MASSIV program becomes essential in connecting and building an ecosystem for supporting positive change. By bringing together corporates and start-ups, with the aim of creating scalable innovation, the program will help solve financial challenges and drive impact. We are privileged to join forces and be a part of this collaboration. ”
