Finland joining forces with Zambia

We are excited to announce this event, where both ecosystems; Finnish and Zambian meet to introduce their networks and initiate collaborations to support their start-ups and international projects.

This event is organized by Tespack, Aalto University Startup Centre, Urban tech Helsinki and AGS. Supported by the Finnish ambassador of Zambia: Ms. Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury to bring together two startup ecosystems towards a more results orientated market. Zambia is a land of opportunities where there are many start-ups looking into growth. The event will take place Tuesday 30th November 2021.ย 

Currently with Tespackยดs expansion and collaborations to support Zambia`s projects in remote areas with our latest Mobile Energy solution โ€œSmart Solar Media Systemโ€ that powers and turns any place into a smart classroom, helping Zambia bring digital education into energy shortage areas. Such projects led into collaborations withย  Plan International Zambia and Solidaridad Network, as well as other institutions to utilize our energy tech solutions and fuse it with their projects know-how to support even further their communities. These types of collaboration have proven to be successful for both ecosystems and with this event we will ensure it is just the beginning of more collaborations to come in both country ecosystems and together create a bigger impact.

A-Grid

The AGS-program

The AGS-program is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry (MCTI) of Zambia, AGS aims to accelerate the growth and competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and startups in Zambia.

ZDA

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) is Zambiaโ€™s biggest economic development Agency with a multifaceted mandate of promoting and facilitating trade, investment and enterprise development in the country. The Agency is also responsible for building and enhancing the countryโ€™s investment profile for increased capital inflows, capital formation, employment creation and growth of the Medium Small and Micro Enterprise (MSME) Sector.

Meet the Zambian Start-ups & Organisations

This will be the Zambian start-ups joining the event to bring on board Finnish start-ups and organisations to their projects.

Natureโ€™s Nectar Limited

Natureโ€™s Nectar works with communities and partners around conservation areas in Zambia to produce sustainable honey. It is their aim to protect the wild areas, while ensuring the sustained livelihoods of the immediate communities.

Dawa Health

Dawa Health, a digital health startup leveraging technology to improve health-system infrastructure across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their mission is to provide innovative healthcare solutions to low-income patients, closing the health service gap between the affluent and marginalised communities of Africa.

Ace Smart Technologies

They offer eLearning services and supply of Tablets to more than 35.000 pupils in Zambia

MEM EdTech Solutions

Offer teachers to network and have access to quality teaching and learning materials, allowing the teaching process to go beyond the classroom setup. They also offer the DiC-Kit, an offgrid capable kit that harnesses XR (Virtual & Augmented Reality). These kits will provide offline access to educational content provided on the online platform to the remotest parts of the country ensuring that no child is left behind.

Onyx Connect Zambia

ONYX Connect provides life changing technology, energy, and mobility on pay as you go to rural women farmers and reaches over 350,000 milk farmers.

University of Lusaka

In 2008, the University of Lusaka introduced its Bachelor's Degree programmes in partnership with the Copperbelt University and in 2009 began offering its own programmes. Following this auspicious beginning, the University now offers a wide-range of programmes at Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels.
